BEACHER'S MAD HOUSE
While one may or may not have expected to find a revolutionary, Vaudeville-inspired theater tucked away in the subterranean recesses of the Hollywood Roosevelt, once you experience it, it all makes perfect sense. Writing a new chapter in a city already teeming with theater and nightlife is no small undertaking, yet Beacher’s Madhouse features over a dozen variety acts nightly that push the boundaries of propriety, passions, sexual mores, and fantastical entertainment. Amid the mirrored panels, antique brass accents and red velvet curtains enveloping the classic proscenium stage, expect world-renowned burlesque dancers and midget impersonators, animals and acrobats, contortionists and fire-breathers. And lest we forget, you may order your drinks from the flying little people who mix cocktails at the fully operational Midget Bar.
