Thompson LES is proud to announce Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya has now opened. The newest member of Blue Ribbon Restaurants is located at 187 Orchard Street and includes a 150-seat Dining Room and Bar area.
Inspired by a recent trip to Japan, the Bromberg brothers in conjunction with their partner Toshi Ueki, have developed a truly unique Japanese tavern unique among Lower East Side restaurants. The restaurant, like all other Blue Ribbon projects, is a design collaboration between Eric and Bruce Bromberg and Edward Asfour and Peter Guzy of AsfourGuzy Architects.
Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya is open nightly from 5pm until 2am. The menu features Blue Ribbon’s signature sushi and authentic Japanese appetizers, in addition to yakitori and a wide array of entrees meant to be shared family style. Highlights at this Lower East Side sushi restaurant include fish flown in daily from Japan, Pork Ribs, Fried Rice Dishes and Grilled and Roast Meats -- along with favorites such as Blue Ribbon’s Fried Chicken. With an extensive wine & sake list, traditional Japanese shochu service and signature cocktails, Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya will offer an upscale bar scene to the late-night crowd on the Lower East Side.
The Blue Ribbon team will also be serving Breakfast, Lunch, and Brunch on the weekends with a menu that draws on the Bromberg brothers’ American comfort food roots.
