Artists In Residence

See artists up-close and at work at Cattle Track Arts Compound.

Situated near downtown Scottsdale, Cattle Track Arts Compound is comprised of 12 artists ranging from graphic designers to ceramicists and a blacksmith. Take a break from lounging poolside or exploring museums, and check out artists at work including potter Mary Van Dusen, a resident artist for 16 years, and Master Printer Brent Bond who uses a restored 1961 Vandercook Universal I printing press for his own work and published works by regional and national artists. Other longtime artists include Mark McDowell whose oil-on-canvas paintings have been exhibited in museums across the country and Europe for decades. A recent work on birch plywood depicts a bright, cherry red tractor (based upon a real-life tractor stored at the compound) drawn with colored pencils. Strike up a conversation with the artists, attend an exhibition, or even take home a new piece of artwork. (Most of the artists have select pieces available for purchase.)
