Tucked in the heart of Vail Village, near out numerous Vail Hotels, the Colorado Ski & Snowboard Museum (free admission with a suggested $3 donation for adults) features a timeline of local Colorado ski history, the backstory of Vail Valley, Olympic uniforms, and the evolution of more than 60 ski bindings, and snowboards tracing to the 1930s. The museum is also layered with artifacts, equipment, and gear from the first Winter Games in Chamonix, France, the 10th Mountain of World War II “ski troops” who trained 30 miles south of Vail in Camp Hale, and an interactive Hall of Fame exhibit honoring Colorado skiers and snowboarders. Think of it as the ultimate inspiration to hit the slopes this winter.
