Known as The Golden State’s oldest existing amusement parks, the Santa Cruz Boardwalk is replete with 35 rides including 3 roller coasters (two are National Historic Landmarks including the 1911 carousel) and 1 water ride. The lauded seaside amusement park, opened in 1907, also features a casino arcade, a bowling alley, a two-story 18-hole mini golf course, and a 26-foot-high climbing wall. Hungry? Don’t worry. There’s more than dozen eateries ranging from casual diners serving up corn dogs and hamburgers, to ice cream shops with root beer floats, and even a deep-fried Twinkie purveyor.
